the Public Acts of 1949, as amended, being S257.204 of the Michigan Compiled  
Laws)  
R 257.71 Definitions.  
Rule 1. (1) As used in these rules:  
(a) "Act" means Act No. 300 of the Public Acts of 1949, as amended, being  
S257.1 et seq. of the Michigan Compiled Laws.  
(b) "All-terrain vehicle" means any motor vehicle with 3 or more wheels which is  
designed and manufactured for recreational off-road use, but not for highway use, any  
motor vehicle with a live axle, or any motor vehicle designed to be used with 3 or more  
low pressure tires.  
(c) "Live axle" means an axle construction where both driving wheels always  
rotate at the same speed. The possibility of automatically or manually changing that  
relationship does not remove an axle construction from this definition.  
(d) "Low pressure tire" means any pneumatic tire which is 6 inches or more in  
width, which is designed for use on a wheel with a rim diameter of 12 inches or less, and  
which utilizes an operating pressure of 10
