UNAPPROVED MINUTES  
In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, 1976 PA 267, as amended, the Michigan  
Board of Veterinary Medicine met on June 17, 2021. The meeting was held via Zoom,  
pursuant to MCL 15.263 and MCL 15.263a and Lansing City Council Resolution #21-081.  
CALL TO ORDER  
Dwight McNally, DVM, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m.

Rules Discussion  
Ditschman presented the Board with the Veterinary Technician Rules draft that the rules  
committee has been working on.

MOTION by Nyberg, seconded by O’Rourke, to approve the Veterinary Technician  
Rules as presented.  
A roll call vote was taken: Yeas: Frank, Kennedy, Levine, Nyberg, O’Rourke,  
Pennebaker, Stachowiak, McNally  
Nays: None  
MOTION PREVAILED  
Ditschman informed the Board that there had been a statutory amendment to the Public  
Health Code that required the board to decide whether changes are necessary to the  
licensure by endorsement rule.  
MOTION by Levine, seconded by Pennebaker, to open the veterinary rules.  
A roll call vote was taken: Yeas: Frank, Kennedy, Levine, Nyberg, O’Rourke,  
Pennebaker, Stachowiak, McNally

Chair Report  
McNally stated he made committee assignment changes and put Hicswa on the DSC and  
Frank on the Board Review Panel; Frank will also be an alternate on the DSC.  
McNally stated the Board Review Panel has reviewed 24 files since the March meeting.  
Department Update  
Ditschman informed the Board that there will be another training session on July 13, 2021.  
All members are welcome to attend.  
Payne reminded members to check their state email regularly and to let her know if they  
are having trouble accessing materials.  
PUBLIC COMMENT  
Lisa Sak informed the Board that her cat Brooky passed away during surgery.  
ANNOUNCEMENTS  
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held September 16, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the  
Ottawa Building, 611 West Ottawa Street, Upper-Level Conference Center, Conference  
Room 3, Lansing, Michigan.
