Audiology - General Rules

3. Purpose for the proposed rules and background:

The Audiology – General Rules pertain to education, clinical experience, limited licensure, licensure,

licensure by endorsement, relicensure, license renewal, and continuing education requirements for

audiologists.

Amendment of the rules will take place to supply revisions of definitions, accreditation standards,

education, clinical experience, limited licensure requirements, requirements for foreign trained

applicants, examination, licensure requirements, licensure by endorsement, relicensure, license

renewal, continuing education requirements, and standards for approval of continuing education

programs.

4. Summary of proposed rules:

The proposed rules will clarify terms used in the rule set remove the English language requirement;

update accreditation standards for audiology educational programs; clarify that a licensee must

complete not less than twenty hours of continuing education during the two years preceding the end

of the license cycle; and supply updated accreditation standards for audiology continuing education

programs.
