The proposed rules include revisions to clarify definitions and the meaning of terms used in the rule
set and grammatical or typographical edits to follow current drafting standards and reorganization to
supply clarification for easier reading; adopt the Speech-Language and Audiology Canada’s (SAC)
Canadian Entry-to-Practice Exam for Speech-Language Pathology (CETP Exam) as an approved
licensure exam for licensure via endorsement; change the temporary license requirements to bring
them in line with the changes taking place on or after the effective date of 2024 PA 57; update
accreditation standards; include a deadline for when an applicant may submit a request for a waiver
of continuing professional development requirements; include a provision that lets licensees know
that they may use completion of implicit bias training under R 338.7004 toward satisfaction of
continuing professional development requirements; supply conditions related to consent, scope of
practice, and standard of care for telehealth services; and include updated procedure information that
a speech-language pathologist may perform under the supervision of a physician.
