Sanitarians Registration - General Rules  
3. Purpose for the proposed rules and background:  
The Sanitarians Registration – General Rules pertain to definitions, training, educational standards,  
registration, examinations, and renewal for registered sanitarians.  
Amendment of the rules will take place to supply clarity on definitions, human trafficking training,  
educational standards, registration, examinations, and renewal.  
4. Summary of proposed rules:  
The proposed rules will clarify definitions and the meaning of terms used in the rule set; update  
environmental health baccalaureate programs accreditation standards, environmental health graduate  
programs accreditation standards, and higher institution educational program regional accreditation  
standards; clarify that applicants who are graduates of regionally accredited institutions or  
unaccredited institutions must provide to the department an evaluation of their educational credentials  
by a credential evaluation organization; and clarify the requirements for registration by examination,  
endorsement, reregistration, and renewal.
