Audiology – General Rules  
3. Purpose for the proposed rules and background:  
The Audiology – General Rules pertain to definitions, training, licensure, limited licenses, clinical  
experience, examination, accreditation standards, relicensure, renewal, and continuing education, for  
audiologists.  
Amendment of the rules will take place to supply necessary revisions on definitions, training,  
telehealth, licensure, limited licenses, clinical experience, examination, accreditation standards,  
relicensure, renewal, and continuing education for audiologists.  
4. Summary of proposed rules:  
The proposed rules will: clarify definitions and the meaning of terms used in the rules; clarify the  
requirements for licensure by endorsement for individuals licensed in another state or a province of  
Canada; update the accreditation standards for audiology educational programs; clarify when an  
applicant must pass an examination as a pathway to relicensure; clarify the period in which a licensee  
must request a waiver of continuing education; and supply updated accreditation standards for  
audiology continuing education programs.
