3. Purpose for the proposed rules and background:  
The Professional Engineers – General Rules pertain to definitions, education, experience, licensure,  
relicensure, examination, standards of conduct, the seal, license renewal, and continuing education for  
professional engineers.  
Amendment of the rules will take place to supply clarity on definitions, education, experience,  
licensure, relicensure, examination, standards of conduct, the seal, license renewal, and continuing  
education requirements for professional engineers.  
4. Summary of proposed rules:  
The revised rules will align the continuing education requirements for relicensure with the continuing  
education requirements for renewal of a license, include another pathway for fulfilling a part of the  
examination requirements via proof of more work experience, and include revisions to follow current  
drafting standards and edits to supply clarification for easier reading.
