The purposes of these rules are to regulate and manage the operations of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights  
and Michigan Civil Rights Commission.  
2. Summary of the proposed rules:  
The purposes of these rules are to regulate, manage and facilitate the efficient operations of the Michigan Department  
of Civil Rights and Michigan Civil Rights Commission. The proposed rule changes are intended to expedite the  
process for filing complaints; provide a mechanism for early resolution of complaints; clarify the process for appeal of  
final decisions of the commission and department; expand the methods of communication between the  
department/commission and parties; and codify the commission’s right to post civil rights laws.
