The hearing is held to receive public comments on the following administrative rules:
Licensing Child Care Centers (MOAHR # 2018- 032 LR)
Authority: By authority conferred on the director of the department of licensing and regulatory affairs by
section 2 of 1973 PA 116, MCL 722.112, and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1996-1, 1996-2, 2003-1,
2004-4, and 2015-1, MCL 330.3101, 445.2001, 445.2011, 400.226 and 400.227.
Overview: The proposed rule revisions are being promulgated as a result of recent amendments to the Child
Care Licensing Act, 1973 PA 116, and new requirements of the federal Child Care and Development Block
Grant. The current rules need to be updated to comport with current law and current best practices.
The rules will take effect 7 days after filing with the Secretary of State. Comments on the proposed rules may
be presented in person at the public hearing. Written comments will also be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on August
