This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom to receive public comments while complying with statutorily
required measures designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID 19).

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public
comments on proposed changes to the Real Estate Appraisers – General Rules rule set.
Overview: The proposed rules will update the exemptions from the Uniform Standards of Professional
Appraisal Practice (USPAP) by exempting board members and investigators from Standard 4 reporting;
reduce the use of a temporary permit by nonresident appraisers in circumstances where a full license is
appropriate; provide for a program to allow a supervisory appraiser to supervise more than 3 trainee
appraisers and clarify the requirements for a supervisory appraiser; update the requirements pertaining
to review of prelicensure educational courses and continuing education programs; and allow licensees to
submit attendance at a Michigan Board of Real Estate Appraisers meeting for continuing education
credit.
Authority: MCL 339.205, 339.308, 339.2605, and Executive Reorganization Order No.1991-9, 1996-2,
2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL 338.3501, MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2011, and MCL 445.2030 These rules will
take effect Immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The rules are published on the Michigan
