The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments on proposed changes to the Ski Area Safety- General Rules rule set.  
R 408.65 is being revised to update a reference to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)  
standard B77.1 on safety requirements for passenger ropeways – aerial tramways, aerial lifts, surface  
lifts, tows and conveyors that is adopted by reference in this rule.  
Promulgation authority is section 6 of 1962 PA 199, MCL 408.326; and Executive Reorganization Order  
Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, 2008-4, and 2011-4, MCL 338.3501, 445.2001, 445.2011, 445.2025,and  
445.2030. These rules will take effect Immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The rules are  
published on the Michigan Government web site at http://www.michigan.gov/moahr and in the Michigan  
Register in the 10/15/2020 issue. Copies of the draft rules may also be obtained by mail or electronic
