The Department of Health and Human Services will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on  
proposed changes to the Child Care Fund rule set.  
The child care fund rules have not been updated since 1987. In 2017-2018, legislative changes were  
made to the statutory sections addressing the child care fund, specifically, MCL 400.117a through  
400.117h. The rules have been amended to align with statutory changes or rescinded to remove  
obsolete language.  
By authority conferred on the department of health and human services by section 6(1) of 1939 PA 280  
and 117a(3) of 1939 PA 280, being MCL 400.6(1) and MCL 400.117a(3). These rules will take effect  
Immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The rules are published on the Michigan Government  
web site at http://www.michigan.gov/moahr and in the Michigan Register in the 1/15/2020 issue. Copies  
of the draft rules may also be obtained by mail or electronic transmission at the following address:

Comments on the rules may be made in person at the hearing or by mail or electronic mail until  
1/24/2020 at 05:00PM.  
The public hearing will be conducted in compliance with the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act, in
