The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments on proposed changes to the Occupational Therapists - General Rules rule set.  
Overview: The proposed rules clarify definitions; clarify a licensee’s or registrant’s duty to report changes  
to his or her name, postal address, and electronic mail address; clarify the rule related to compliance  
conferences; rescind rules that are duplicative of statute; add rules regarding unlicensed activity; advise  
respondents about the service of a complaint or notice of hearing; advise a licensee or registrant that an  
investigation may include potential violations beyond those originally alleged; clarify when a contested  
case begins; and advise where and when pleadings should be filed after a complaint is issued.  
Authority: MCL 24.233 and MCL 339.205, and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2,  
2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL 338.3501, MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2011, and MCL 445.2030. These rules will  
take effect Immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The rules are published on the Michigan  
issue. Copies of the draft rules may also be obtained by mail or electronic transmission at the following

Comments on the proposed rules may be presented in person at the public hearing. Written comments  
will also be accepted from date of publication until 5:00 p.m. on September 18, 2020.
