NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments on proposed changes to the Architects – General Rules rule set.  
The proposed revisions to the rules update accreditation standards for architecture educational  
programs; require a certificate of completion of any National Council of Architectural Registration Boards  
(NCARB) internship program or proof of current and continuous licensure in another state of at least five  
years to satisfy the experience requirement for licensure, clarify the requirements of the design and use  
of the seal of an architect; and include activities that qualify for continuing education, the documentation  
needed to show completion of the activity upon audit, and the limitations for receiving credit in qualifying  
continuing education activities.  
By authority conferred on the department in consultation with the board under MCL 339.205, MCL  
339.308, and MCL 339.2009 and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, and  
2011-4, MCL 339.3501, MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2011, and MCL 445.2030.  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed  
issue of the Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or
