The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments on proposed changes to the Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons – General Rules rule set.  
The proposed rules amend definitions; clarify the effect on a real estate salesperson’s or associate real  
estate broker’s license if there is a lapse in a broker’s license or if the broker dies or becomes disabled;  
add a rule advising licensees of the proper procedure for seeking a continuing education waiver; amend  
the continuing education requirements to align with the requirements of MCL 339.2504a; and rescind  
and relocate some rules to comply with current drafting requirements and for organization and clarity.  
By authority conferred on the Director of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs by MCL  
339.205, 339.308, 339.2504, 339.2504a, 339.2505, 339.2512, and 339.2516a, and Executive  
Reorganization Order Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL 338.3501, 445.2001, 445.2011,  
and 445.2030.  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed  
issue of the Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or
