The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on
proposed changes to the Occupational Therapists - General Rules rule set.
The proposed revisions to the rules include amending definitions and the training standards for identifying
victims of human trafficking for clarity, rescinding rules that repeat statutory provisions, rescinding rules and
relocating them to comply with current drafting requirements and for organization and clarity, updating
educational program accreditation standards, amending and clarifying which educational programs are
approved for licensure, removing the jurisprudence examination requirement for all license types, amending the
delegation and supervision rules for clarity, and clarifying which activities are approved by the board for
accumulating the continuing education required for license renewal, and clarifying that a licensee who
completes implicit bias training under R 338.7004 may also use that training toward fulfillment of continuing
education requirements.
By authority conferred on the department in consultation with the board, MCL 333.16141, MCL 333.16145, MCL
333.16148, MCL 333.16174, MCL 333.16175, MCL 333.16178, MCL 333.16186, MCL 333.16186a, MCL
333.16204, MCL 333.16205, MCL 333.16215, MCL 333.16287, MCL 333.18307, MCL 333.18309, and MCL
333.18313, and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL 338.3501,
445.2001, 445.2011, and 445.2030.
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed rules are
