The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments on proposed changes to the Ski Area Safety – General Rules rule set.  
The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments of proposed changes to the Ski Area Safety – General Rules rule set.  
The proposed rules established standards to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Michigan skiers,  
spectators, and the public by regulating, inspecting, and permitting ski areas and ski lifts throughout the  
state.  
By authority conferred on the director of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs by section 6  
of the Ski Area Safety Act of 1962, 1962 PA 199, MCL 408.326, and Executive Reorganization Order  
Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, 2008-4, 2011-4, and 2024-2, MCL 338.3501, 445.2001, 445.2011,  
445.2025, 445.2030, and 16.735.  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed  
issue of the Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or

Comments on these proposed rules may be made at the hearing, by mail, or by electronic mail at the  
following addresses until 11/13/2025 at 05:00PM.
