The Department of State will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on proposed changes to the  
Voter Registration Cancellation, Challenge, and Correction rule set.  
The proposed rules will clarify the framework for voter registration challenges and explain the procedures  
around voter registration cancellation and correction.  
By authority conferred on the Secretary of State by section 31(1)(a) of the Michigan election law, 1954 PA 116,  
MCL 168.31(1)(a).  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed rules are  
published on the State of Michigan's website at http://www.michigan.gov/ARD and in the 8/1/2025 issue of the  
Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or email at the following email
