The Department of State will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on proposed changes to  
the Use of Electronic Pollbook rule set.  
To provide that an electronic pollbook must have a secure live connection to the Qualified Voter File  
while voting is taking place, if the site has internet access. Further, to provide that the electronic pollbook  
software download provided in MCL 168.668b must still take place and serve as backup to the live  
connection.  
By authority conferred on the secretary of state by section 31 of the Michigan election law, 1954 PA 116,  
MCL 168.31.  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed  
issue of the Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or  
electronic mail at the following email address: [email protected].  
Comments on these proposed rules may be made at the hearing, by mail, or by electronic mail at the  
following addresses until 7/15/2025 at 05:00PM.
