The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public  
comments on proposed changes to the Dietetics and Nutrition – General Rules rule set.  
The proposed rules include an explanation of specific terms used throughout the rule set, and the  
requirements for training on human trafficking, accreditation for educational institutions, accreditation for  
didactic programs in dietetics and dietetic internship programs, and the licensure examination.  
The rule set contains the qualifications for temporary licensure, initial licensure, licensure by  
endorsement, relicensure, and renewal of a license.  
The rule set establishes the requirements for completion of continuing education and pain and symptom  
management and establishes approved continuing education sponsors and activities. It further  
establishes that licensees shall hold an active certification with the CDR as a condition of licensure.  
Lastly, the rule set contains the requirements for supplying telehealth services, the provision of orders  
related to the practice of medical nutrition therapy, and the adoption of a code of ethics.  
By authority conferred on the department in consultation with the board under MCL 333.16145, MCL  
333.16148, MCL 333.16174, MCL 333.16201, MCL 333.16204, MCL 333.16287, MCL 333.18358, and  
MCL 333.18359, and Executive Reorganization Order Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL  
338.3501, MCL 445.2001, MCL 445.2011, and MCL 445.2030.  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed  
rules are published on the State of Michigan's website at www.michigan.gov/ARD and in the 12/1/2025  
issue of the Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or
