The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on
proposed changes to the Psychology – General Rules rule set.
The proposed rule revisions include an updated link to adopted standards; updates to educational degree
requirements, dates after which the board will no longer consider or accept a post-degree practicum, and
clarification on the requirements for requesting approval of a post-degree practicum before the board’s
discontinuance for limited license psychologists; educational standards for master’s level psychology programs;
and removal of the restriction on the number of continuing education hours that a licensee may obtain in a 24-
hour period and removal of the names of organizations whose continuing education programs are already
approved by the APA.
By authority conferred on the department in consultation with the board under MCL 333.16141, MCL 333.16145,
MCL 333.16148, MCL 333.16204, MCL 333.16287, MCL 333.18223, and MCL 333.18233, and Executive
Reorganization Order Nos. 1991-9, 1996-2, 2003-1, and 2011-4, MCL 338.3501, MCL 445.2001, MCL
445.2011, and MCL 445.2030.
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed rules are
