The Department of State will hold a public hearing to receive public comments on proposed changes to the  
Breath Alcohol and Ignition Interlock Devices rule set.  
The proposed rule changes correct typographical errors and update the responsible area of the Secretary of  
State.  
By authority conferred on the secretary of state by section 625k of the Michigan vehicle code, 1949 PA 300,  
MCL 257.625k and section 33 of the administrative procedures act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCL 24.233.  
The proposed rules will take effect immediately after filing with the Secretary of State. The proposed rules are  
published on the State of Michigan's website at http://www.michigan.gov/ARD and in the 5/1/2026 issue of the  
Michigan Register. Copies of these proposed rules may also be obtained by mail or email at the following email
