7. Describe the general purpose of these rules, including any problems the changes are intended  
to address.  
CS Part 6 Personal Protective Equipment gives direction to employers and employees on  
protecting Michigan employees from safety and health hazards in the construction workplace  
when personal protective equipment is involved.  
The intent is to rescind rules that are duplicative of federal standards and to adopt by reference  
with the applicable federal standard.  
In addition, this rule set is being amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions  
and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

MIOSHA is not aware of any rules that conflict with or duplicate similar rules, compliance  
requirements, or other standards adopted at the state, or regional. Some rules are duplicative in  
order to be as effective as federal OSHA regulations.

instructional bulletin, form with instructions, or operational memoranda?  
None that MIOSHA is aware of.
