Case No. U-21369, In the matter, on the Commission's own  
motion, to promulgate rules governing gas safety. My  
name is Lesley Fairrow, I'm an Administrative Law Judge  
with the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and  
Rules and presiding officer in this matter.

Today is July 11, 2023, this is the date  
and time designated by the Michigan Public Service  
Commission in its June 9, 2023, order to hold a public  
hearing to amend the rules regarding the amendments to  
rules governing Gas Safety Standards. The primary  
purpose of these amendments as to the existing rule set  
is to adopt by reference current federal regulations  
governing gas safety.  
This public hearing is being held at the  
Commission's Lansing office, the address of the office  
was included in the Notice of Hearing. The Commission's  
publicly available docket for this case shows that the  
Notice of Hearing was published on June 9, 2023, and  
in -- was published on June 9 in the following
