To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Claire Hammer and Iam a registered dietitian nutritionist from Marshall, MI. Iwould like to express
my support of the proposed general rules MOAHR #2025-35 LR for Dietetics and Nutrition. Having practiced in
Michigan for over 40 years, this adoption of rules will facilitate access to cost effective and necessary medical
nutrition therapy. Michigan will also be better aligned with other states in the delivery of nutrition care services
once licensure of medical nutrition therapy becomes fully effective.
Sincerely,
Claire Hammer, RDN

Dear Departmental Specialist,
Iam writing to support the proposed draft of general rules, which address:
• Explanation of terms and requirements for training on human trafficking, accreditation for
educational institutions, accreditation for didactic programs in dietetics and dietetic internship programs, and the
licensure examination.
• Qualifications for temporary license, initial license, licensure by endorsement, relicensure, and renewal of a
license.
• Requirements for completion of continuing education, pain, and symptom management,
establishing approved continuing education sponsors and activities,
and all licensees, as a condition of licensure, shall hold an active certification with the Commision on Dietetic
Registration.
• Requirements for supplying telehealth services; provision of orders related to the practice of medical nutrition
therapy, and the adoption of a code of ethics.
The proposed rule set, MOAHR # 2025-35 LR, will serve to aid in the protection of consumers and support
access to timely, cost-effective nutrition care.
As a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist with 40 years of experience working in the nutrition field, Ican attest this
legislation and professional licensure is definitely needed to ensure appropriate nutrition care for the citizens of
this great state.
Thank you for your attention to this matter,
Eileen Mikus, MS, RDN
